Gov. Beshear to Wage Ham Against Huskies Tonight

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has placed a "friendly bet" with Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell on tonight's National Championship game between Louisville and the Lady Huskies.

Beshear has put up a Kentucky country ham, while Gov. Rell waged a lobster dinner for two.

It doesn't look like Beshear is getting the 16.5 points the Lady Cards are underdogs. It's also unclear whether this is part of his campaign to implement expanded gaming in the Commonwealth.

Said Beshear: “As a great seafood lover, I gladly welcome Gov. Rell’s lobster dinner wager. The First Lady and I will savor this lobster just as we will savor the NCAA victory of our University of Louisville Lady Cardinals.”

That's governor talk for "it's on like donkey kong."

Let's keep the ham in the K-Y. Go Cards!
