-Louisville's opponent in football this week is Syracuse. If you ever think Coach K gets a raw deal from fans - myself included - you should see how Orange fans and administrators torch head coach Greg Robinson. A recent article in the New York Times suggests the university has already hired a search committee for a new coach, with UCONN coach Randy Edsall, a Syracuse alum, having allegedly been contacted already. I have also heard former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr's name thrown around.
- If you don't know about it, bookmark it. Former C-J writer Brian Bennett's Big East blog is a must-read for anyone wanting the insider view. The weekly power poll has Louisville 4th this week and Scott Long was one of Bennett's top players of last week.
-For anyone that missed the Red/White scrimmage, the video king Jerb has the whole video on the 'net. Before you watch the video, check out shawnbowen.net. Jerb is turning into a legend around the internet amongst Louisville fans with the way he keeps churning out videos. VIDEO OF SCRIMMAGE
- Earl Clark and Terrance Williams made a list of the Top 5 Pro Prospects in the Big East on one of the more underrated sites on the web, draftexpress.com. The site currently has Clark projected as the #9 pick and Williams the 26th.
-Blogger Brent Axe wrote a good article about how his Syracuse Orange are getting the ol' scroogie because of how hard the Big East is. He makes a good point. Of the 16 teams in the Big East, 12 are tournament caliber and would get a bid if they played in a different conference. Realistically, 8 teams will make the big dance, which would already be a record. Axe also seems to think the Orange could surprise some people this year. Johnny Flynn is one hell of a point guard.
