Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books and several former Cardinals made contributions. There are currently 23 players from UofL either on active rosters or the practice squad for the start of the season.
- K David Akers Philadelphia Eagles hit 5 extra points and chipped in a 23 yard field goal in the Eagles 38-3 win against St. Louis
-CB William Gay recorded 2 tackles in Pittsburgh’s 38-17 win over Houston
-Brandon Johnson had 3 tackles for the Bengals in their 17-10 loss to Baltimore
-Kerry Rhodes had 4 tackles for the Jets as they beat Miami 20-14
-G Jason Spitz started for the Packers in their 24-19 win over Minnesota
-DE Dewayne White had 2 tackles including a sack for the Lions in their 34-21 loss to the Falcons
-WR Harry Douglas had 1 rush for 7 yards on an end around on Sunday
Injuries
-WR Deion Branch will not be available for the second straight week for the Seattle Seahawks
-TE Scott Kuhn has been on IR for the Ravens since training camp and he will miss the whole season
DNP
QB Brian Brohm, CB Sam Madison, QB Chris Redman, RB Kolby Smith, and TE Gary Barnidge.
