Cards Hang in at No. 6

The Cards remained at No. 6 in both polls after toppling Marquette Sunday, a game at which I wore white linen pants, a white Reece Gaines (or George Goode?) jersey, all white Reeboks, and – get this – a white sports coat. And this with no access to alcoholic beverages. Well, for the first half anyway. I saw some other interesting attire being rocked at Freedom Hall but I think I won. But I’m biased. And here are your most recent polls:

Also, the Cards kept their No. 2 seed in the South Region in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology. It looks like the Big East will land 8 teams, with Providence getting the nod with that big win over then-No. 1 Pitt, and Cincinnati getting hosed. You’ll recall the South region’s first couple games would put us in Dayton, and the Regional Championship (should we be so fortunate) would be in Memphis. According to Lunardi, our first challenger would be the Binghamton College Bearcats of the America East Conference. The Bearcats’ signature wins include Utah Valley, Marist, and the Quinnipiac Bobcats. They also split two games with the University of Maryland Baltimore County Retrievers (pictured.) I like our chances.
