The 2009 Big East Tourney is set. The Cards will play Thursday at 12:00 and get one of either No. 16 Depaul, No. 9 Cincinnati, or No. 6 Providence. Catch a glimpse of the whole bracket at the Big East’s website.
If you’re into the whole gambling thing, Vegas likes Pitt, Louisville, or UConn to take the BE Tourney this year. And Vegas is smart. Here’s what it’s saying about each team's odds to win it up at Madison Square Garden:
Pitt: 7-4
Louisville: 2-1
UConn: 9-4
Villanova: 6-1
Syracuse: 10-1
Marquette: 15-1
West Virginia: 15-1
Notre Dame: 20-1
Providence: 20-1
Georgetown: 30-1
In other news, the Cards cracked the top 5 in both the AP and Coaches’ Polls today, landing at No. 5. UNC retook over the No. 1 spot. And, for the first time this season, Louisville received a vote for No. 1 in the AP, which came from Brian Dohn of the L.A. Daily News. I like Brian Dohn of the L.A. Daily News.
