Louisville coach Rick Pitino was on hand last week to see Indianapolis Lawrence North sophomore Michael Chandler have his career-high 18
points. The 6-foot-11 Chandler, one of four Lawrence North players headed to U of L, has mostly played on the junior varsity because of the team's depth this
season. But he had 18 in a 70-52 win over Indianapolis Pike.
U of L signee Stephan Van Treese had 12 points and 10 rebounds as Lawrence North beat Terre Haute North 43-28. U of L commitment Ryan Taylor added 10 points.
U of L signee Rakeem Buckles saw his career at Miami Pace come to an end with a 66-65 loss to Cocoa in overtime during a Class 4-A regional final. Pace was gunning for a third cnsecutive state title. Buckles finished the game with 18 points and finished the season by averaging 20.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots a game.
After a season of turmoil, U of L commitment Jeremy Tyler saw his head
coach - Kenny Roy - and an assistant coach at San Diego High School fired last
week. There has been controvery surrounding the program all season after three
players were ruled ineligible. Tyler was then held to a season-low 16 points and
13 rebounds in a 59-52 loss to Torrey Pines in a Division I quarterfinal
