Cards Rise to No. 12 in Coaches' Poll

Happy Martin Luther King Day.

Louisville jumped 8 spots in the latest coaches' poll. Deservingly so, I should add.
But of course we all know the only rankings that matter come at the end of the season.

Pitt fell to number 4 after taking the L at the Hall and Wake Forest took over the number one spot. Other teams of interest: (3) UConn, (8) Syracuse, (10) Marquette, (14) Georgetown, (19) Notre Dame, (21) Villanova.

If my math serves me correctly, that's 8 teams from the Big East in the Top 25, which is 8 more than the Soft, er, South Eastern Conference.
Now get back to celebrating MLK Day. Or celebrating George-Walker-Bush-is-no-longer-President-of-the-United-States Eve. (Yes, it's its own holiday. )
UPDATE (3:06 pm): The Cards' rise in the AP poll was even more dramatic, as they bounced all the way back into the top 10 at number 9. Looks like E5 got his birthday wish.
