Cup O' Jones : USF Gameday

- The Cards continued their troubles traveling this season. As I brought up last night, the Cards were forced to turn around and make an emergency landing back at Louisville International Airport after an apparent engine fire 15-20 minutes outside of the city as the team was en route to Tampa for tonight's So. Florida game. Supposedly there were a few tense moments, however it turns out there was no fire in the first place, but thank God the captain took all the precautions necessary with our squad on board. The Cards had flight trouble on the way out to Arizona for the Minnesota game as well, so hopefully this doesn't start a trend. The Cards were scheduled to re-depart at 8:30 last night and word is it was smooth sailing. I really don't see this affecting us tonight.

- Here is the audio from the Coach Pitino/Edgar Sosa news conference from yesterday morning. Pitino called the Big East a "Death March" on multiple occasions and said the he knew this team would have many ups-and-downs before the season even started. Raved about the play of Patrick Patterson, calling him the most unguardable big man in the country and previewed the USF game. Check out the audio for yourself at U of L's official site.

- Krag got a commitment from another 2-star JUCO, this time in the form of 6-3 285lb Joseph Townsend, a DT from DeAnza CC in California. Don't know much about the guy, but do know that there is a gaping hole in the interior of the d-line next year and any added depth will be helpful. I have never been a fan of JUCO's because it seems like coaches get them in hopes they will be ready quicker, but in actuality it takes them just as long to learn the system as the freshman. That brings the total number of recruits for next year to 17.

- Watch out for Dominique Jones tonight on South Florida. He has the ability to put up points in bunches like Meeks did Sunday. it always seems as though the best player on the opposition always has a great game against us, and Jones plays that role for the Bulls. If the Cards can hold him under 20 points they will win easily.
